Bryan Adams performs in Bangalore on February 8
Vijay Mallya announces the Canadian rock star's concert as "the best Christmas gift the city has ever received"
Bryan Adams is visiting India again, and Bangalore is the venue for the "mega entertainment event".
Vijay Mallya said Bangalore was chosen because "it is home". His liquor empire is based in this city, and McDowell No 1 whisky is the main sponsor of the rock concert. Brittania, Hero Honda Motors and Channel V, the other sponsors, were also represented at the brief press conference to announce the event.
The concert is on February 8 at the Palace Grounds, and tickets are priced
at Rs 400 and Rs 600. DNA Networks is managing the event. Bryan Adams had earlier visited India in 2001 when he performed in Mumbai. That concert had attracted 35,000, according to Venkat Varadan of DNA Networks, but the Channel V head honcho who addressed the Windor Manor press meet put the number at 60,000.
