Dedicated to the memory of Isaac Stern
The 7th Miyazaki International Music Festival
May 6 to 18, 2002, Miyazaki, Japan



For six years since its inception in 1996, Isaac Stern was the guiding spirit of the Miyazaki International Music Festival. This year, we are dedicating the festival to the memory of this great musician, leader, teacher and friend.

A special photo exhibition and a memorial concert will be among the major events this coming May. Performers will include:


* Vladimir Ashkenazy (conducting and piano)
* The Juilliard String Quartet
* The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio
* Michael Stern (conducting)
* Jian Wang (cello)
* Akiko Suwanai (violin)
* Tsugio Tokunaga (violin, General Producer)


As every year, the festival will feature a series of concerts and educational events for young musicians.
