A landmark album from Whitney
This is Whitney's fourth album, her first studio album after eight years, during which she rose to fame with songs for films like Bodyguard, Preacher's Wife and Waiting to exhale.
Her voice is phenomenonal and her rendering of each song is truly awesome.
This is a landmark album as she sings with other stars like Mariah Carey in When you believe , Faith Evans and Kelly Price in Heartbreak hotel, and Missy Elliot in In my business.
The title track is hip hop with Wyclef Jean from the group Fugees. It is remarkable how Whitney brings to life every genre: hip hop, soul or dance. Each song makes for great listening, and there's none of the monotony you feel when you're listening to a pop album featuring a single artiste. Not only is Whitney's singing non-repetitive but she mixes styles and adapts excellently to genres and fellow-artistes.
The famous Grammy award-winning songwriter Babyface has written, produced and co-produced four songs in the album, When you believe, Until you comeback, I bow out, and I'll never stand alone.
I bow out stands out for its Arabian-Hispanic violin flourishes.
The orchestra throughout is rich and varies with the arrangers and music writers.
Whitney Houston is growing in style, as this album proves.
